One of the
other good reasons, why Google is a good way to show how USA is better than
Denmark, is when it comes to innovation. Is the way they spend their money, on
projects and ideas from other companies.
Denmark
most often just try to get the fast money. That means, that they sell their
company really fast, and therefore accept a lot lower amount of money, than the
company actually is worth. An example for this, could be Skype, it was founded
by 5 men, and one of them was a Dane. In 2005 they sold the Skype to eBay
for "only" 2,6 BILLION DOLLARS, and only 5½ year later, eBay sold it
to Microsoft for 8,5 BILLION DOLLARS.
So if they
had waited just a few years, they could have gotten almost 6 BILLION DOLLARS
more.
If you then
look at the way Google use their money, it is totally opposite from how Skype
did. Because never sell out, instead they buy ideas and projects from other
companies. An example for this could be YouTube, which they bought very soon
after YouTube started in 2005, for "only" 1,6 BILLION DOLLARS. That
might sound like a lot of money. But since they bought it in 2006, they have
earned MANY BILLION DOLLARS, in advertisement.
You mention that Denmark often tries to get "fast" money by selling their companies at a lower amount of money, what about Maersk which is a huge company. And also I would like to see the sources you have used and some more argumentation from your side.
SvarSletMaersk is a big company, but they are using a lot of fuel, and because of that they send out lots of Co2. So if they were so innovativ, they would have done something, to reduce the amout of fuel, they are using for the ships. Or somehow reduce the amout of Co2.
SletAnd Maersk emits just as much Co2 as the hole country Denmark does.

You say that many companies should just wait and see how much it can grow. Has it ever occured to you that maybe (just maybe) they were at their limit? Sometimes you meet obsticles that puts an end to your project, and realize "Well, we can not do more to this program, better sell it, and let other make it better"
SvarSletSometimes its better to just let someone else take it to it's max potential.
If they want to be a bigger company, then they should hire more people to innovate their produkt. they were not at the limit, you can tell it by the way it is now, they were just started. people have to know what it is before they use it. Ebay did not do enything to Skype before they sold it.
SletYou say you have to use money to make money, but what if you don't have any money?? You can't use something you don’t have..
SvarSletYou came with the example of Skype. What if they did not want to have the company anymore? there probably was a lot of work in the project. And think about it 2,6 billion is ALOT of money, and can probably live happily ever after with them
I agree that the Danes sell out to fast sometimes, but it is not everybody who does that for example Lego and Maersk. I think they have done a good job. I just think that the Danes cannot be compared the people from the USA to a certain extent, like in business. USA manage their corporations on another way, they are more like investing, and that can benefit them in the long run. However, they also have a lot more resources then Denmark.
SvarSletYou should probably have used more than just one example to prove your point, because you have only used Google as an example, and then BAM! the USA is way more innovative than Denmark. So one company in a country with 320 billion people, shows off the country's great innovative designs/ideas! That seems a bit off, don't you think? While Skype did sell out pretty fast it is understandable, since it is not easy to just wait 5½ years before you sell out due to the fact that it is risky business to stay on the market and pray for the future. But if you sell out right here right now it is secured money in your pockets. So this kinds of business is also about how far do go, while selling 5½ years after and earning themselves 6 billion dollars more would have been the best choice but, it is either low risk, low reward or high risk, high reward. If they had declined Ebay's offer they could maybe only sell it for 1 billion dollars and they would have lost 0.6 billion dollars, so selling out to Ebay was not a bad choice, it was just a safe thing to do.
